Blackeye Pea Dip

An unusual but tasty appetizer for the next party. Purple Hull Peas or Crowder Peas also work well in this dip.


  • 1 (28 oz.) package frozen Pictsweet Farms Blackeye Peas
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup frozen Pictsweet Farms Chopped Onions
  • 1 (14 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 package buttermilk ranch powdered dressing mix
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded


  1. PREHEAT oven to 350°F.
  2. PREPARE frozen peas according to package directions and drain.
  3. MELT butter in a large skillet and sauté frozen onions until translucent.
  4. BLEND all ingredients together and pour into a greased casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes and serve with chips or crackers.
