Baked Hoppin’ John

This no-fuss combination of rice and Pictsweet Farms Blackeye Peas minds itself in the oven, giving you free time for other things.



  1. PREHEAT oven to 350°F.
  2. COOK bacon in a Dutch oven until brown. Remove cooked bacon, crumble and reserve drippings. Cook frozen seasoning blend in bacon drippings until onions become translucent.
  3. ADD broth, frozen peas, rice, salt and pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. COVER and place in the oven. Bake for 45 minutes or until peas and rice are tender. Add bacon pieces, stir and serve.
