Frequently Asked Questions

100% Grown on American Soil

How do you know American consumers prefer American-grown products?
The short answer is they told us. We have done considerable research on the topic, and consumers overwhelmingly tell us they prefer products grown in the United States. That is why we have taken steps to ensure Pictsweet Farms frozen
vegetables are 100% Grown on American Soil.
Are products grown in America safer?
American-grown products are produced under the most rigorous agricultural practices to ensure they are of the highest quality — the highest standards in the world when it comes to producing food that is safer and nutritious. Pictsweet
Farms is proud to source all of our vegetables from U.S. farmers.
Are frozen vegetables healthier than fresh vegetables?
The reality is that frozen vegetables have health
advantages over most fresh vegetables because of how they are harvested and frozen in a timely manner to maintain freshness and nutrition. We have nine production facilities located throughout the U.S. to ensure our products are
quickly prepared for freezing, packaged and shipped to maintain the highest standards for quality. That quality can last up to two years in the freezer — much longer than fresh vegetables.
Are there Pictsweet Farms vegetables in stores that were not 100% Grown on American Soil?
There may be some products still in a store that were packed before we were able to have all items totally grown on American soil. If a package does not have a 100% Grown on American Soil seal, it is still a quality product. Going
forward, all Pictsweet Farms vegetables will be 100% Grown on American Soil, and we encourage consumers to look for the seal that identifies their frozen vegetables as 100% Grown on American Soil. You will also find the country of
origin information on the back of the package in the same area as the "Best if Used By" stamp.
Are other brands of frozen vegetables 100% grown in the USA?
You can check product origin labeling on packages in the grocery store and see where the product is grown, although some companies do not make it easy to determine the origin of their products. Look on the back of the package in the
area where the "Best if Used By" stamp is located. The FDA requires that all packages list the country of origin. At Pictsweet Farms, our products carry a 100% Grown on American Soil label identifying where the vegetables were grown.
We are proud to offer consumers a trusted, high-quality, wholesome product that is 100% Grown on American Soil.
Are all of the ingredients in your products from the United States too?
All of our vegetables are 100% Grown on American Soil. For instance, there may be a common seasoning item like pepper that is unavailable from the United States. Because we want to be as transparent as possible with consumers, we
indicate this with our labeling. But our commitment is firm: all of our vegetables are 100% Grown on American Soil.
What is wrong with vegetable products produced in China, Mexico, Canada, Vietnam, Guatemala or other countries?
Farmers in Mexico, Canada and many other countries produce good products; however, U.S. farmers follow the highest standards in the world when it comes to producing food that is safer, nutritious and of the highest quality. U.S. farms
have some of the most unique skillsets and most diverse farmland in the world, and we're proud to source our vegetables from U.S. farmers.
